Seems like just yesterday I was mad that some lady named “Miranda July” (K&A had to tell me who she was) didn’t pay her plachinta (flatbread) tab and we were putting the schedules up on the fridges and chalking up the specials boards. We are continuing to get mad at different, more deserving people but we mostly love all you guys and gals and (you) who come out and support and help build a little community out of loving breakfast food and coffee, and dogs. And rainy days that are kind of warm so you tuck yourself in some corner on the patio and listen to the birds while you drink a coffee. Stay warm and loving LA, Glassell park is doing its part. 💙 LPK OH and I totally forgot to mention, we are doing some throwback specials I will make another post in a minute. Plachintas, savory grains, brisket hash! We’re running those out til Monday.

Very excited to show off some new menu items! Our TLT, Tempeh Lettuce Tomato is a surprisingly refreshing, yet savory winner. You can sub bacon if you want but our smoky tempeh is perfect with crispy lettuce & tomato. The Cali omelette is with spinach, blistered tomatoes, crimini mushrooms, fontina cheese and is really delighting us with its simplicity and balance of umami & acid. Our new turkey sandwich is not to be missed! A classic with a twist, pistachio pesto and our house roasted turkey is a warm-you-up kind of sandwich that’ll have you back again and again for lunch. WEEKEND EXTRA SPECIALS.. Folks, it’s been a while since I’ve been as excited for our specials as I am today. Our new Elote omelet has everything you want in a summer omelet, corn, poblano, dressed up elote style with house aioli and our spice blend. Our house grown tomato crop is still coming in, big juicy Paul Robeson heirlooms and others, organically grown right here in the neighborhood by yours truly. Our summer tomato toast is house focaccia topped with chunks of tomato and ripe peaches, nestled among burrata and a dash of my favorite Napa balsamic, kissed with extra virgin olive oil, a true summer classic. The toast is running all week until tomatoes run out, Elote starts mañana. Friday Fish Fry is now on for LUNCH, from 11am -5pm so don’t miss out.

Today is our Elsa's last day as a working poppy 🥰😭 and we have a lot of emotions because she has been with us for over 10 and a half years and we love her!!!!
It's hard to imagine this place without her grace, calm, humor, and that incredible smile.
She is one of those rare angels that everyone is drawn to, you can sense wonderfulness immediately. She is incredibly generous with her time and attention and we know her friends, family, and the lpk team all feel loved by her. In 10.5 years she has seen us through all the phases of LPK, started her career, started a family, and been our rock!!
So excited for her to finally have some time off and rest and she's going to be the best mom ❤️💗💛 can't wait to meet the new addition and watch her beautiful family grow!!
We know we'll see her because we're close to dodger stadium and she goes there a lotttt 😂 aww a new baby dodger 💙🤍

We are 12!!! 😍😭🌸 where did the time go?! 12 years ago today we signed our lease, and immediately got to work. Our paint choices were questionable but our biscuit was amazing and you all started showing up in numbers that were scary and exciting, annddd we went from there!
To celebrate, everything on our breakfast menu is $12 today! It's the 12th, we are 12, breakfast is $12 party on 🧡🥳
We are so grateful for all the wonderful people who have helped us learn and grow along the way, we are lucky to have had incredible team members and customers, we wouldn't be here without you! This truly is a special community ❤️🧡💛 Times are challenging but with your support here's to the next 12🥂 cheers and big hugs everyone!
